AHPC @ 1st Physics Conference in Cyprus

The first Physics Conference in Cyprus brings Physicists of all levels in Cyprus together, to share their passion for the subject!

The conference was held at the University of Cyprus on the weekend of 30-31st of January 2016 . Professional Physicists, academics, teachers, university students and even high school students from across the island gathered to talk about Physics and share their ideas.

Our AHPC research group at EUC was represented by Post-doctoral researcher Andreas Papadopoulos, who presented our research activities on infrared astronomy. The audience were also informed about the upcoming Troodos’ ObservatoryOlbers’ paradox and the importance of astronomy/astrophysics as a research field of modern Physics. The presentation included some online (free) astronomy tools (ie. Galazy zoo, Chromoscope, APOD etc.) that can be used by physics teachers in the classroom, in order to intrigue children about astronomy and the Universe.
